You’re very right. We can go to God whenever we want just as we are but not however we want. That’s the key. And in times like this, we need the key to reach God because obviously God has been silent for a very long time and people are already discouraged and hurt.

You can go before a human king demanding him to act soon because you’re getting discouraged and hurting and you will surely not get what you ask if you don’t honor that human king. If God is far greater than a king, then he must be approached far better than a king. He needs to be revered and show utmost respect.

People need God’s message of love always but people also need God’s message of truth.

The truth is that God hates arrogance and entitlement and if we’re being honest, that’s the way so many of us go before God.

I think my view has gotten so much better. It’s not what it used to be.

I used to go to God thinking he owed me something but I know much better now. He owes me nothing but he helps me because I’m broken and unable and he is merciful and kind.

Please don’t take this personally. Emotions are high because of our personal suffering and God’s unresponsiveness but this isn’t just directed at you, Lucy. You’ve said the right things.

This is for so many people who are discouraged and hurting and calling out to God who refuses to show up. It may be time to search our own hearts to see if we’re right with God and if we are and he still won’t answer, then at least we know the problem isn’t us.
