Why It’s Tempting to Believe There’s No God

You lose your faith and you risk losing it all

In a world where people are suffering, it’s natural to question the existence of God. If there is a loving God, why does he allow so much pain and suffering? And why does he seem to be absent when people call out to him? These are difficult questions, and they can lead to a crisis of faith for some people.

As someone who has been struggling with my faith lately, I know how easy it is to be tempted to believe that there is no God. I have unanswered prayers. Things that I have been praying about for what seems like forever. I have problems that I wish weren’t there. During these times, I am tempted to believe that there is no God. If there was, he would have answered me by now.

It’s hard not to feel like God doesn’t care or that he isn’t listening. Or worse that God is dead or that he never existed in the first place. It’s easy to feel like we’re alone in the world, and that no one is there to help us. It’s tempting to believe that there is no God at all.

But is that really the answer?

Is it really better to believe that there is no God, rather than to grapple with the difficult questions of faith?
