BRIDGE TO THE HEAVENS
What’s there to be grateful for?
I have a friend who, no matter how much you’ve helped him in the past, only focuses on what he lacks in the present. He wouldn’t appreciate what he has or remember the kindness others have shown him.
It was exhausting dealing with this attitude of ingratitude.
I believe God would feel the same way.
If we approach the heavens without saying thanks for what’s already done for us, and we go straight to asking for more, we come across as ungrateful.
That’s not how I want God to see me.
An attitude of ingratitude makes the heavens sick of hearing our requests.
Despite the darkness hanging over me or the things I desperately need, I live with a grateful heart. I start and end my prayers by thanking God for the blessings I already have.
As I count my blessings, I see all that has been done for me.
And you know what happens when I am grateful for the things that have already been done for me?
It’s like my other friend who appreciates when you do something for her, no matter how small, even if it was a while ago. She acknowledges and is grateful for what’s been done for her in the past. Even when you’re not able to help again, she still holds her beautiful attitude of gratitude and because of this, it is just so much fun to offer help and support because you know it is appreciated.
