The Source of Strength

When fear holds me for ransom, I’m not afraid

I love how new and full moons help me understand the phases of life. I love how the stars far away remind me that something doesn't have to be in arms' reach to find beauty in it. I love the ocean water between my toes and the breeze on my face.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains, but does my strength come from the mountain or any of those things mentioned above? No, my strength and power come from God, the one who created heaven, earth, and all of those things.

When the world is confusing and there are no companions but pain and despair; when fear holds me for ransom, I'm not afraid because I know He's always there.

When I'm lost in the forest and I fall deep in the valley with chaos and destruction for company, I find comfort in my heart because I know He lives there.

I stand strong because my help comes from Him. I know He will come and pull me through whatever painful phase I'm going through. He carries my brokenness, my sickness, and my weakness in His hands.

He carries me on His shoulders and sets me down gently on solid ground. He mends what’s broken, and He fixes what’s shattered. He carries my tears in His hands and turns them into…
