The reason I wake up and work hard every day

When I was 20, I won a green card lottery and found myself boarding a plane for the very first time to one of the greatest nations. I felt excited to start a new life but along with my new opportunity came a lot of responsibilities I didn’t expect. I learned that winning this lottery didn’t just change my life; it meant I had to change the lives of my whole family. Sometimes, it feels like I’m carrying a heavy load because everyone depends on me. Even though this can be hard, I know that my responsibilities give my life real meaning.

Taking care of things is not just about doing chores. It’s about giving love and attention, whether it’s to a child, a plant, or a community. For me, caring for my family is important, but I also found joy in taking care of my trees. What began as a fun hobby turned into a serious task. I started with a few seeds, and now I have nearly 200 trees to look after every day. Each morning, I check on them to make sure they have enough food, water, and sunlight, just like a parent does for a child. Watching them grow brings me happiness and purpose.

Being a parent is another big responsibility that shapes my life. Raising my daughter takes a lot of effort, dedication, and selflessness. I try to meet all her needs and help her become a caring adult. The joy I feel from being a good parent is priceless.
