The most personal part of us is the spirit. We are spiritual beings not our bodies or souls which is merely the bridge. It is the spirit that is preserved after death.

The spirit was given to us which is why I say it doesn’t belong to us and so we can’t sell it. The body and soul is ours to do whatever we want with but not the spirit.

The spirit goes back where it belongs means we go back where our spirit belongs. We go to exist there. If your spirit belongs to God, you go to be with God. If your spirit belongs to god, you go to be with that god.

Eternally.

In Christianity, the Bible says we are given a new body for the spirit to dwell then I assume the soul is restored again to be the bridge. So the spirit is the most personal part of us.
