Honestly I don’t think there’s something wrong with talking about it, the problem is how we talk about it.

It’s not helpful when I see people put how much they earned in titles and subtitles. Like you said writing is the only job where people share openly how much they earn.

When I started writing about spirituality, people wanted to know if it was a profitable niche but I didn’t want to publicly say how much I was making so I decided I’d write about it when I started making four figures.

When I made four figures, I wrote about it but my title was:

Is spirituality a profitable niche?

And then I said what I needed to say and shared how much I earned. You wouldn’t know I was going to share my earnings but I threw it in there. I tried not to sound like I was bragging because I hated it when people bragged.

But I satisfied curiosities and helped others in the spiritual niche keep writing so it was a good thing.
