The Bible has survived the attempts of kings, dictators, and societies to abolish it, but it remains the best-selling book of all time for a very simple reason. Its wisdom and teachings cannot be found in any of today’s self-help books.
Yes. It’s hard to trust the words of some ancient kings, servants, and prophets who lived centuries ago in a world totally different from today’s world, and that’s the number one reason most people want to discard the book and ignore its teachings.
That’s the reason I didn’t touch a Bible for most of my adult life. It wasn’t God who put pen to paper, so how could I trust it? It’s difficult to trust a man-made object as God-inspired or God-breathed when the mind of man is so evil and so corrupt.
